The Hamilton County Democratic Club is the social and educational arm of the Democratic Party in Hamilton County. It meets the 4th Wednesday of each month except December (when we have a Holiday Party). Many club members are candidates, poll workers, campaign voluteers, and concerned citizens. The Club is a good place to learn about and start to get involved with politics, governance, and issues.

Greg Purvis, President, president @ hcdemocraticclub.org: Current Club Vice-President. Candidate for Fishers Town Council, 2007. Precinct committeeperson, and Fall Creek Township chair, and delegate to several Democratic State Conventions. Chair of the CityYes PAC. Charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Geist. A practicing attorney for 32 years, and an active Democrat since 1968. Former chair of the Fifth District Young Democrats. Greg was born in Kokomo and has lived in north-central Indiana his entire life. He is a graduate of Ball State University and Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.Greg recently became engaged to Dana.
Lauren Robinson, Vice President, vicepresident @ hcdemocraticclub.org:Lauren grew up in Carmel, IN and graduated from Carmel High School. She received her B.A. from Tulane University in 2008 with a double major in Latin American Studies and Sociology. She has spent the past six years working and volunteering for non profits, and is currently serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic. Lauren has been serving as the secretary of the Hamilton County Democratic Club since May 26, 2009.
Maryelle Bein, Secretary: Maryellen recently finished her PhD from Santa Monica State University in Spiritual Psychology.
Ed Russell, Treasurer: Ed Russell grew up in Frankfort, IN, attended Purdue University, married Mary Matthews and in 1965 moved to Boston, MA. In Boston he served as intern chaplain at Harvard and MIT and Housing Director for Berklee School of Music. He returned to Indiana in 1970 to work as an Extension Agent with Purdue University. After receiving his Doctorate in Education from Indiana University in 1975 he taught first as an Adjunct Professor at Valparaiso University then as an Adult Basic Education Coordinator with Portage Adult Education in Portage, Indiana. In 1983 he began a career as a financial planner which spanned nearly 25 years. Ed sold his practice in 2007 and retired to Carmel, IN to be near his grandchildren. Ed is an active Democrat who has served in many roles including precinct committeeman and campaign treasurer. Ed has served on the Club's Program Committee.
